Tower Loan is a scam loan sharking company. I financed appliances years ago through a local appliance dealer. Little did I know that Tower Loan actually was the financer. For years now, I have received pseudo checks made out to me from this company. The accompanying letter stated that all I needed to do was cash the check for a world of happiness! I called Tower Loan and asked that my name be removed from their mailing list and was assured by the woman who answered the phone that she would take care of it. I do not want my name on checks floating around in the mail that someone could possibly cash! Tower Loan is still sending checks made payable to me and has not complied with my request. If you get such a check in the mail from Tower Loan, shredd it immediately and do not do business with these sharks.

I financed some furniture through this company. It was supposed to be a 12 month no interest loan. The first trick this horrible company uses is: instead of taking the amount you owe and dividing by 12 they take it and divide it by 24.Then they do not tell you. I assumed. Never do this! On what I thought was my last payment they informed me I would have to had doubled my payments to pay it off in time. So I was stuck paying an entire years worth of payments plus interest at what they said was 28% but by my calculations I will have paid 3900.00 for 1000.00 worth of furniture!

I am a complete idiot and I cashed one of those checks they sent. Yes, I know what you are thinking!

Next, they call regardless if you are late or not. To offer you more money! If you are one day late they will call any number they have on file. They called my husband at work 17 times in one day! I had my attorney send their office in pearl and their corp. office a certified "cease and desist" letter (sp?) The calls have finally stopped. However, they WILL show up at your house and send mail on a daily basis.

I could understand if you were 3 or 4 months behind. But, sending your trolls out to my home when my payment is only a month behind is INSAINE! My water heater went out, sorry that comes first. You get paid second. GET OVER IT.

They threatened me with taking my things, taking me to court ect...when Im only a month behind.

In December I made a payment, I was informed I only had one payment due on one account and the other was up to date. I went in to make my payment this month and was informed that I have 3 months due on one account and 1 month due on the other. When I asked how this was possible when I just made one last month they stated that the cashier made an error and is no longer with the company and that she had posted my payments wrong. Every month I leave their office feeling robbed and very confused.

I hope the new bill that just passed in MS puts this company out of business. The worst part is I did all of this to build up my credit as I cant get a loan from the bank and now I find out they haven't even been reporting it. I'd rather have bad credit my ENTIRE LIFE then ever deal with another 2-bit loan company ever again!
