OnLingo Scam/scam! Internet

I was doing some research for my boyfriend who recently got scammed by this company and came across a ripoff report for them by another person and I wanted to add our experience. He signed up for the free trial because he wanted to start learning some languages. He decided that he did not want to pursue this trial and tried for weeks to contact this company. They would not answer their phone and apparently that is the only venue in which they will supposedly cancel your account. The trial ending date came and went and he was charged for the CD he had gotten and never opened. Still he has tried to contact this company and has never been able to reach them, and a second CD has come in the mail with a second charge to his account. He has been forced to approach his bank about challenging the charges. He has been directed to return the CD's to OnLingo and they will supposedly stop charging him and cancel his account or else they will recharge him the money his bank has refunded him. From the way it sounds from other people's other experiences with this company, it is likely they will continue charging him anyway. It disappoints me the company is still alive and going even after the report to which i'm responding, which was written in 2007 and it is now 2011.

Onlingo My credit card was charged for DVD's on Spanish that I did not want. They charged my cr card $83.92 a month totally $671.36. I returned all d

I was "mistakenly" sent a CD from Onlingo for Spanish after ansewring a questionare. I received another CD the following month and was charged $79.95. I tried to contact to tell them I did not want it. I ended up calling 3 numbers and was put on hold for eternity, disconnected, or could not get through at all. I could not reach through there websitee. (Now they have a place to check yo cancel) but they did not then.

they billed my credit car company without my authorization .The cost for the following months also went up to 83.92. I wa never informed of the cost or even the number of cd's that would be sent. I continued to try to contact and never opened the cd's.

My credit card company said I had to cancel it in order for them to deny the charges. I informed them that I tried. They contacted them then I told the person at Onlingo to cancel and I needed to send cd's back. She said I could not. I asked to speak to a supervisor anmd she said they didn't have one! Also she could not find my account, or any record. After searching she finally said that it had been canceled and tat was why she couldn't find it. She also said to check my "paperwork" I said I had none since they never sent anything but the cd's.

I informed her that I was sending a letter and the cd's. I sent all of them to the address she finally verified . They were unopened.

They have a "Satisfaction Guaranteed" stamp. I think not! They charged my credit card $671.36. I am unemployed and I was at that time so I certainly could not afford Spanish cd's since I am trying to buy food and pay mortgage.

Since the Onlingo employee could not find an accoubt # she said to use #478492 which I did.

This company says satisfaction guaranteed. However either they hire employees that are incompetent , noncareing, and lazy or Onlingo is telling them to be ignorant, or Onlingo is running an intentional scam and ripping off honest people who are already literally struggling to survive.

I sent the cd's with a Signature Confirnation , they were tracked and delivery confirmed so I know they received them. So now I owe my credit card over $600 for absolutely nothing.

I would appreciate any help. If I sound "mean"../well after all this time and effort I am frustrated and really have begun to wonder how people can sleep at night.

This is no way to run a legitimate business and I think they should have to be accountable for what they do.

onLingo OnLingo operation not re: language - Don't Use Them!!! Internet

OnLingo advertised language CDs. Have received them previously and they were OK. Signed up for another language and charge hit credit card fraud division. Telephone 800-949-6880 has greeting about meeting people then gives second phone 800-456-6500.

That line is for sexually oriented calls!! Definitely not what was offered or ordered! Was notified of possible fraud w/in minutes by credit card company. Tried to cancel "order" thru phones given and confirmed fradulent practice of OnLingo.

I will fight these people to the end to see that they do not get any money from me whether I provided credit card or not. "Contracts" legally can be canceled w/in 72 hours of agreement - this all happened w/in 10 hours of on-line transaction.

Printout of "order" states clearly: "If you decide that Onlingo is not right for you, simply call a live Customer Care specialist at 1 (800) 949-6880 at any time during your 14-day free-trial period to cancel." and "You can cancel anytime by calling Onlingo Customer Care. No risk, no obligation, cancel any time!"

If you can't get a live person, there appears no way to cancel. Big scam!!!

Onlingo scam adverticement from MacBook Air survey in Ontario, California

All it started with a survey to win a MacBook Air, and in order to get a chance to win it, I had to purchase something from their sponsors. Onlingo was the only item I would probably used out of all the other sponsors. The CD was free, but I just had to pay for a "one time charge" which it was the shipping and handling for $6.95. I received the product after a week. A couple of days later my bank account has declined and protect my account from an overdraft from OnLingo. Then after two weeks with the product, I checked my account and I was charged $87.55 from OnLingo. I called the customer service, and they provided me with an RMA(Return Merchandise Authorization) number. I understand they have a restocking fee, but I never opened the package, and I had to pay for the shipping and handling twice. It's been a week since I returned the CD. I kept track of the item to ensure its delivery. Now that they have received the package. I got an E-Mail from OnLingo saying that my RMA has been terminated, and not refund has been made to my account. How long more do I have to wait to get my refund? Or should I take action by filing a dispute?
