I just got notification that Debt Settlement USA will be shutting down its operations as of November 4, 2011. I participated in the Debt Settlement USA plan 3 years ago and started saving money to pay my creditors. I ended up paying DSUSA a total of $14,223.82 for their fee and they have notnegotiated any single one of my debts. I ended up negotiating just one of my credit card debts myself from moneys I saved separately. This creditor and all my other creditors have always contacted me directly with offers of settlements. I could have settled most of my remaining debts with the amount I paid DSUSA. I have always had bad experiences while dealing with this company such as nobody answering phone calls, returning phone calls and even if I get a hold of someone, they are very rude and unpleasant. This started happening even when I was still making my monthly payments to them. It was too late for me to discontinue their services as I knew I was not getting any refund of my payments to them. I am very sad that this is now happening to me when all I wanted was to make good with my obligations. I am out of work and could not find work and my unemployment insurance already rand out. My creditors are continuing to hound me with phone calls and collections notices. I could have used the money I paid these scam artists to pay off almost all of my remaining debts.
