This company is a scam. They harass with foreigners calling me 10 times per day when I had just made a payment. I have never been late, missed and actually have made payments that were substantially above the required amount.
Never have I had a nice person call me and never have I had a person try to work anything out with me. My payment is $340 per month, I pay $500 per month and it's still not enough to please these crooks. They are horrible and I suggest that no one do business with them under any circumstances. They will repo your car even when you are not late and have made all of your payments on time. Illegal.

My husband and I purchased a car through Credit Acceptance Corporation, after having it a year the car was totaled and was paid off by insurance/gap coverage. A month after the accident they wrongfully took a payment from our bank account causing us to overdraft. I have called almost every day they are open since then trying to get this payment back.. there was a zero balance owed on the car when they took the payment. First I was told if I would fax a copy of my bank statement showing where they took a payment and it caused us overdraft they would expedite the process of getting it sent back to us. 5 weeks later we are still waiting. The company says the check was sent out 3 weeks ago and then a week ago and that I should give it up to 30 days to get here. I live in Alabama and this company is in Michigan, a hitch hiker could get it here in less than 30 days. Also we are not getting back the full payment amount... they keep telling me that there was interest that was taken out of the balance they are sending back. Interest for what??? The car has been completely paid off for 6 weeks. No one can tell me what the interest is for or when I will receive the check. I have been told 3 different times that it was sent out, only to call in a week when I don't receive it and find out it has not. I was informed by a very rude customer service rep that WHEN (not if) I don't receive it in 30 days call back and they will start the process of sending us another check. This is the most horrible company I have ever had to deal with. Every customer service rep/supervisor has a different lie every time I talk to them. One supervisor (Valerie Finley ext# 0235) even called me "retarded" and accused me of lying. I am trying to figure out what my options are as far as filing a lawsuit against them, in the contract where we bought the car it clearly states that any over payment will be reimbursed within 30 days and 30 days was up about 20 days ago. They are liars and cheats and they should be shut down. All I can say is they better be glad I live in Alabama and not Michigan!!!

I purcashed a auto here in ala through credit acceptance a ripoff is a soft word for these people a nd there dealers a year later i have a summons for court saying i owe 6.899.94 cents of which is650.00 repo cost for a auto i gave back i was charged 9.312.85 cent to finance this auto the put down payment money on contract i didnt have in order to finance auto they triced my son into signing contract telling him they only needed to verifie his income now he to has asummons this company preys on people with lies and deception and should be shut down.

ok i got layed off and got behind in my payments and my suv got repossesed on nov2 2010. all my fault for getting behind im not complaining about the repo. so the morning i wake up and see me suv gone i knew what happened cause i sort of expected it sooner or later. so i call credit acceptance and find out how much they wanted to get me suv back. like 1000 dollars. so i call my mom to borrow money till income tax and she ays i should just borrow enough to pay it off and be done with it. ok so i call credit acceptance and ask how much the buyout is with the repo fees and everything so im done.they say $3,381.

ok no problem. i go to give them my moms discover card and they dont accept discover. ok so i go through western union they can only take up $2,500 so i had to make 2 payments and had to get hit with 2 processing fees. ok whatever suv will be payed off and no more chance of repos ever so oh well. so i call credit acceptance back to give them conformation number and the lady says they messed up and i still owe $62.00 i told them i would call back in 2 weeks to make payment for 62. so now here is where the real problem starts.

2 weeks i call to make 62 dollar payment and they say i owe $300 dollars but could not tell me why after being transfered around to customer service, repo dept, and redemption and the whole time im just asking to speak to a supervisor finally after 90 minutes i get a supervisor on the phone or at least he says he was. he hears me out and says hold on. comes back on in about 10 minutes and says look just pay the 62 dollars and your account will be closed. lol i said thats all i wanted to do and everyone else kept saying i owed $300 dollars. then he told me i should get the title in 4-6 weeks. all done. not.

5 weeks go by of waiting for the title. i get a call from the credit acceptance foreigners. the ones that call when your payment is late. soon as i hear its them im just thinkin shit something aint right. they want a $172 payment. i laugh and hang up on them cause i can barely understand them anyway. i call customer service and at first they said the money i owe was interest. then they said repo fees. they werent even sure what it was for. once again getting the run around being transfered everywhere but a supervisor and them being very rude and ignorant the whole time.

finally a lady says she just reviewed my account witn a supervisor and its repo fees that they messed up and nerver billed me. if you think about it thats not possible cause my suv would have never been released witout the repo fees being paid. so yesterday i tried contacting neighborhood legal services and they cant help me. i put a complaint on the attorney generals consumer protection website. then i figured credit acceptance might repo me again over this $172 they say i owe and that i clearly dispute paying untill im 100% sure why i owe it and for what. so this morning i called credit acceptance to ask them to send me in writing that if i pay them $172 dollars they will not try to bill me anymore money.

the lady on the phone still being rude says sir your account is closed. im like how is that posibble after all this back and forth arguing and yesterday 7 timescredit acceptance foreigners called me for a payment. the lady had no answer how the $172 got taken care of. transfered me to repo and they couldnt tell me either. they have no balls to admit there wrong and apologize. i hope they get shut down. they are a joke and have no clue how to handle customers and be friendly.if you are a credit acceptance supervisor and read this contact me with an apology and i might take my report off the attorney generals and the BBB website.

This company is operating on the fringes of legality. They put a kill switch on this womans car and LIED about it. Killed the fire to the motor and she was NOT behind in her payments. This company needs to be put out of business. Russell, Vimville, ms
